Laura's Professional Background
After earning her BA in English and Theatre from Muhlenberg College and years of pursuing acting and teaching yoga in NYC, Laura returned to school to pursue her Master's in Social Work from New York University's Silver School of Social Work.
Laura began her training in social work at the Parkchester New York Public Library in the Bronx, where she worked with patrons in need of social service referrals and application assistance for issues such as housing/homelessness, unemployment, healthcare, immigration and domestic violence. In addition to meeting with patrons one on one, she implemented library programming to connect patrons directly with nonprofit and social service organizations.
Laura delved into her clinical psychotherapy training in the Women's Behavioral Health Department at Morris Heights Health Center in the Bronx, where she worked with women struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD and trauma, as well as perinatal, postpartum and motherhood challenges.
Laura has since carried on her clinical work through group private practice, continuing to specialize in women's health while also working with a wide range of clients facing various challenges such as self-esteem, eating disorders, relationship challenges and life transitions.
